Lazy Saturday;

Hmm, not much happened today. I went to The Cheesecake Factory (amazing food - I love the fried macaroni balls), the mall, and Target. I'm currently broke so I didn't buy ANYTHING, there's always next time though.

*I wore my shirt untucked while I was out but I saw the belt at home and figured I'd try tucking in*

Hey There :)

Hello, hello, hello. I know I've been a terrible blogger lately but July & August have been super hectic. Between work, shopping, reading, and trying to make time with friends/family, updating hasn't been one of my top priorities! I'm back now though, and that's all that matters, emirite?

Although I've been gone, I have been keeping up with outfit pictures even though I generally haven't been wearing anything substantial - my work uniform consisted of my 'staff' tee shirt, shorts, sandals, and assorted accessories. For example, my outfit for the last day of work:

work tee shirt: from the boss
black nike dry-fit spandex: dick's sporting goods
black patent sandals: target
pink & white animal print scarf (tied into a bow): banana republic
stack of bracelets: grandpa
heart pendant necklace: forever 21
large gold hoop earrings: claire's
flat-top shades: wetseal

The last day we had a pirate themed carnival so I figured wearing hoop earrings and a scarf would be appropriate. On a whim, I tied the scarf off into a bow and it turned out looking really great. It's cute but not too "cutesy" if you know what I mean.

Next up is one outfit worn in 3 different situations. I'm usually not one to do that but I just love this particular outfit THAT much.

UNO.

Finally, I have yesterday's & today's outfits. Sunday I went into Queens to see my cousins and take my younger brother back home to Dirty Jerz; the day was hot but relaxing. Today was my first of four days of SAT Prep. The classes themselves aren't bad; I wasn't all to thrilled to be back at school just yet.

Yesterday:

white v-neck: american apparel
denim shorts: kohls
gold gladiators *new, no pictures yet*: marshall's
black printed scarf (tied in a bow): mother
gold & black medallion necklace: forever 21
large gold hoop earrings: claire's

Today:
black & white buffalo plaid shirt: old navy
black under armour shorts: dick's sporting goods
gold gladiators: marshall's
stack of bracelets: grandpa

black zipper blazer: grandma
"the love makes peace" tee: forever 21
purple+gold+teal+black silk scarf: mommy
bracelets: grandma & grandpa
colored bauble ring: museum
black leggings: no idea
black patent sandals: target

That's the outfit I wore for last night's Target + Barnes&Nobles run. I found all these great clothes at Target. My favorite pieces being a printed strapless maxi dress that wasn't too long for me, and these draped pencil skirts. I ended up getting a pair of blue sandals for work though. They're hawt.

Afterwards, I spent about 2 hours in Barnes&Nobles trying to find my summer reading books, and just plain browsing. I ended up only getting Ordinary People by Judith Guest. I read it within 3 hours, beginning as soon as I got home and it was amazing; probably one of the best things I've read in a long time. So now I have 5 more books to read; 2 for apus & 3 for ap writing.

Oh yeah, I start work on Monday. I'm a camp counselor for the 2nd year in a row. It should be fun but mad tiring; I'll be working 9-6 for 5 days a week for the next 8 weeks. Excited? Mostly, I guess.

Not Much to Do, Not Much to Say.

Just today's outfit, really that's all.

black tunic: target
printed headscarf: mommy
gold heart pendant: forever 21
denim cutoffs (cut them myself): hollister co
colored bauble ring: some museum
bracelets: grandparents
sunglasses: wetseal

I'm not really doing much today. Just dropping off my job application and going to Barnes & Nobles to pick up summer reading. The rest of the weekend should be much more eventful though. I have my first All State choir practice tomorrow and after that I'm going down to my friend Kim's shore house for the rest of the weekend. I can't wait!

And the Summer Begins.

Summer '09 has officially begun, and it just so happens to be off to a great start with my being extra busy this past weekend.

Friday:

My brother's eighth grade graduation. The whole ceremony was surreal to me; it's hard to believe that my baby brother and all of his peers will be joining me in high school in the fall. Not only are they growing older, but I am too; I'll be graduating high school in just two short years, and then heading off to college. Wow.

My Outfit:

black zip blazer: grandma
cream ruffle tank: target
black belt: forever 21
black & blue bandage skirt: h&m
black patent sandals: target
wayfarer-style sunglasses: wet seal

I never got a picture of my brother's outfit, but he looked "pretty spiffy" as my mom described. He wore: a navy blue blazer with bronze buttons, white & blue striped button down, red&white&lightblue striped tie, and khaki pants. Very preppy, and very Nigel (that's his name).
Saturday:

No outfit picture, but my day was definitely interesting. My mother and I went along with my brother to a graduation party thrown by my bestie Emily's younger sister. It was a lot of fun, and the food her mother made was basically amazing. Oh, and I met John Corzine (the governor of my 'wonderful' state - NJ); it just so happens that Emily's father is an assemblyman for the state and friends with the governor as well. He was surprisingly nice, and very sincere, and as he was leaving kissed my mother on the face. Yeah, I know. When he was good and gone I LOL'd soo hard, I almost cried.

Sunday:

My uncle came up to NYC from Charlottesville to visit my grandparents for his birthday so my mother, my brother and I drove out there for a late lunch/early dinner. We originally planned to go to Hudson River Cafe, but the the kitchen was closed to begin their dinner preparations. Instead, we walked down the street to this Italian place called Cova, and I'm glad we did. The food was fantastic, and the people were nice. Well, besides a few prissy teenage hostesses, but hey what can you do.

My Outfit:

black zip blazer: grandma
purple strapless bubble hem dress: forever 21
gold heart necklace: forever 21
bangles: all over the place
colored bauble ring: some museum
black patent sandals: target
flat-top sunglasses: wetseal

Today, I did a whole lot of nothing which included reading various blogs and rummaging through my clothes, ultimately finding a coral pink strapless terrycloth romper that I'm currently wearing. Wow, was that a ridiculous run-on. The rest of the week should be pretty mellow, and then I'll be down the shore this weekend, WHOOHOO!

DONE!

Wow, it's been a while. I've been so caught up with schoolwork that I've barely any had time for anything else. As of now though, I'm finally finished; last thursday was my last day of classes and friday was honors convocation. I had exams Monday (Latin&Alg2), Tuesday (English2), and Wednesday (Modern European History) and they were all dress down days! But I'm almost certain that I'd wear these outfits on a regular school day.

Monday:

"the love makes peace" tee shirt: forever 21
printed scarf: mommy
black leggings: h&m
gold gladiators: urban outfitters

Tuesday:

black & white plaid button down
printed silk scarf (as a belt): mommy
denim leggings: target
black patent sandals: target

Wednesday:

grey v-neck: target
yellow printed scarf: mommy
black leggings: grandma
gold gladiators: urban outfitters

It's kind of crazy that I've already finished two years of high school and I only have two left. This summer will be fantastic though, I'll be working again, participating in Lead For Diversity, and doing a lot of partying. Oh, and of course I'll have summer reading for AP US History and AP Writing...that might take away from the fun but I'll get over it, I hope.
